Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett said he'd donate more than 80 percent to foundations that support charitable causes. In the year 2020, he boosted that amount to 99 percent. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was the biggest beneficiary. It was founded by Bill Gates, Microsoft founder as well as his wife Melinda. They focused on world health and education. Bill and Buffett have been close friends since the early 1990s. The other organizations that received contributions included those that Buffett's three children and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, named in honor of his wife who passed away, which is focused on women's rights to reproductive health and funded college scholarship programs. The Giving Pledge was an invitation for other wealthy people to contribute a substantial portion of their assets to charities established by Buffett and Gates in 2010.
